Ann Curry
Ann Curry is an American photographer and journalist who has worked as a journalist for more than 45 years focused on human suffering in conflict zones as well as natural disasters. Curry covered wars in Kosovo, Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, born November 19th, 1956 (Agana) was an American journalist who served as an anchor on television. Curry was well-known for her coverage of natural disasters and humanitarian crises that took place in war-ravaged regions. Curry was born in Japan and was raised by her Japanese mother. Her father was an U.S. Navy sailor. Curry met her mother when she was working alongside her father in Japan in the aftermath of World War II. Due to her father's service in the military, they moved a lot. Curry finished highschool in Ashland Oregon. Her graduation with a journalist certificate in 1978 from the University of Oregon in 1978. In her youth, she was exposed to many cultures. Her empathetic attitude towards global affairs may be the result of these experiences. Curry moved around a lot along with her companion, and did not attend any school more than two years. She went to schools located in San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia. Curry graduated from Ashland High School. In Medford where she began her career in broadcasting at KTVL Channel 10 as an intern. at the age of 22, she became the station's first female reporter. Then, she stepped onto becoming an anchor reporter and anchor for KGW, the NBC affiliate station located in Portland. The following year, she relocated into Los Angeles as a reporter for KCBS-TV. In the course of her work with the channel for a period of the duration of six years that she won two Emmy Awards.
